Overview
Booth A8

Forging the Sun and Weaving the Moon is a photographic series shaped by two guiding forces that inform the way she sees. The energy of the sun — active, warm, direct — emerges in moments of clarity, when she shapes an image through position, perspective, and focus. Working exclusively with natural light, these sun-driven moments unfold through shifting atmospheres rather than controlled setups.

The energy of the moon — intuitive, quiet, receptive — reflects a slower way of looking, where she listens and allows form to reveal itself. In Chinese creation myths, the sun and moon were once a single being before separating to maintain balance in the world. This idea of unity within duality — Yin and Yang — moves through the work, beyond the literal rhythms of day and night.

During her time in Yunnan, this duality became tangible. Some images are built through structure and intention; others emerge only when she steps back and allows them to surface. The series moves between control and surrender, warmth and stillness.

Ultimately, Forging the Sun and Weaving the Moon explores the space where sun and moon meet — suggesting that creation may arise from two halves once belonging to the same whole.
